Darkwing Duck by sketchiegambit Darkwing Duck by sketchiegambit
A coloured sketch I did in a meeting, which got me into a little hot water despite being known to doodle on everything :)

Duckwing Duck is one of my favourite of a long list of Saturday morning cartoon shows from my childhood and I'm really sorry Disney have yet to release this on region 2.

Anyway, in the meantime prepare to suck gas evil dooers! and everyone else enjoy :D

Characters copyright Disney, artwork copyright me :)

YOU were getting dangerous if you were sketching during a meeting! Doodling during meetings can get you in trouble.

I like the lighting you did here. A lot of how a picture looks changes when you go from lines to color. There's something you can lose from the lines because the color commands attention of it's own, but it looks like something was totally added with the color. I can't see the black and white version, but I had to imagine what this would be like in black and white to image what would be lost if this went back to that.

hehe, I realise in retrospect I was playing with matches next to a gas leak :)

And thanks, I'll dig out the original and post it for you, you can tell me off some more :giggle:

yeah. that's a real shame to be honest. back then cartoons had quality and the characters were people that almost everyone could relate to. they had a real soul that set them apart from any other cartoon character.

I don't see that in any of today's cartoons.

Very true, there are a few good ones here and there, but not nearly as good. You'd think a generation that grew up on the classics would make it happen.

IRK! Makes me afraid of what the generation after that will bring. *eye twitch*

not to mention, all the Disney channels aren't even Disney anymore. It's become teen pop central. Where's Chip & Dale? Where's Aladdin? Where's Mickey Mouse and the rest of the original crew? I miss the 90's. :icondragoncryingplz:

I'm just grateful that I grew up with epic shows like Darkwing Duck, Ducktales and Gargoyles.

I can't agree more, I grew up between the mid 80s and 90s and I'm just as grateful for all the wonderful cartoons that were around then.

Will be interesting to see how people will feel about the shows the current generation are watching, last time I looked Disney is all Hanna Montana.
